Kurumi can never bring herself to look them in the face when she brings the shovel down – and the one time she does, all she can think is but what happened to her eyes before Megu-nee lunges forward and all she knows is heat and pain and hunger.
"I can't dance," Miki protests, but when Kei takes her hands she finds herself rising to her feet and as they waltz along to the music from the Walkman's tinny radio, her heart soars as if they're dancing through a ballroom, on a stage, on stardust.
