The flight from Sydney to Tokyo was a long one. Kanan's in spectacular shape, but sitting on a plane for nine hours is a different kind of exhausting than swimming all day. It's well into the evening when she finally makes it to the train station... and even then, she still has a couple of hours of rail travel ahead of her.
She's debating getting a thing of coffee from a vending machine when, out of the corner of her eye, she sees a familiar pair of hair clips.
Instantly, she can't help but feel a little more invigorated. She doesn't immediately approach Dia, though. That'd be too easy.
Yes, I am planning on making my way back to the main house for vacation. Are you making any plans yourself?
[ ... that's a very calm sounding text given the sheer fury and panic with which it was typed. Even from a distance, it's totally obvious to the casual observer (and even more obvious to Kanan) that a certain Miss Kurosawa seems to be working herself into a tizzy over something or other. As is the Dia way, of course. ]
[ perhaps unexpectedly, there's a new face in Mobius today— short and fine-boned, dyed (?) hair bright against the backdrop of most of the rest of the city's population. she's walking around with her hands tucked primly behind her back, eyeing "Miyabi" with open curiosity and humming as she goes. ]
I see someone's worked hard...
[ ...she was also definitely not invited— and if that isn't enough to get someone's attention, she's wandering idly toward the nearest train station to see what will happen. ]
[ Something about this girl feels a little bit wrong. It's not that Mu minds uninvited guests -- of course not! the more the merrier! -- but there's never been an instance of someone coming to Mobius without Mu personally asking them to. Where there should be the impression of this girl's feelings, some of what she'd been through to bring her to Miyabi... there's just a void. Mu doesn't like it. ]

[ Not that any of that shows, of course. She makes her voice bright and cheerful as she comes hurrying over. Not running, of course, but descending lightly from the sky like some sort of fairy. ]

Oh, no, nothing like that! It's just, there isn't anywhere outside the city for you to go to yet. Miyabi's the only part that I've made so far.
[ She says this all very matter-of-factly, swishing idly from side to side on the spot, like she's moving around to the melody of a song only she can hear. ]

No, Mobius is a happy place! I let people come here so they don't have to be sad and hurting in the real world anymore. It's a place they can be safe and happy and live a life without having to be hurt. I'd never want to hurt them even more!

I really didn't think that was the case; it was more of a "better safe than sorry" sort of concern. To go that far for humans, though... You're a kind sort of person, aren't you?

Ever since I was born, I've sung all kinds of songs for all kinds of different people. And they were all so beautiful, but so many of them were about people in pain or despair and who didn't have any hope left whatsoever.
Hearing all that pain... it made me wish more than anything that I could do something to save them.

A very kind person. I think a lot of those sorts of songs are more a form of catharsis or storytelling than anything, but... you're still right that there are a lot of people suffering. I do my best to help with that too, in my own way.

Well... people are people, but— mm, there are things humans can't understand about what it's like to be a person who was made? Just as there are things we can't completely understand about being human. That isn't a bad thing, but sometimes it can make for a sort of distance. And so can being someone so many people look up to.

It can be different than having a peer around, I suppose I'm saying. I don't mean to be discouraging; I was just in that kind of position myself for a while, so I get fussy about it.
